National Blog Posting Month
So it’s here! NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) is an on-line program in which bloggers from around the world commit to posting daily each day for 30 days. I have decided to sign up and join this writing challenge which wll be quite an undertaking for someone who has had a lot of thoughts and ideas, but has not been able to commit to writing and posting with any regularity.
While I had heard of NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month which is a challenge for writers to write every day and produce a 50,000 word novel. While I wanted to write, I do not think I have had the great Canadian novel in me like some do. I have been writing bit here and there, but have not been in the posting anything at all. I was still reading through quite a few as time allowed including posts by a friend of mine, Laura. She told me about this NaBloPoMo, and it seemed like a much more manageable way to )re-)kick start my writing (again). They say it takes 21 days for a new habit to become part of one’s routine so I hope participating in this writing challenge will do it for me.
They also say that the “buddy system” is also a great way to help you achieve your goals. So in this case, I have brought a friend along with me for the ride ZwineNinja – Via, Veritas, Vita. Follow her for some great posts about wine, life, and travel – the lucky lass will be visiting Scotland during November.
Another feature of NaBloPoMo is the community of bloggers that participate – visiting and commenting each others’ blogs is encouraged. I have been lucky that I have met some truly wonderful people on line via social media who have been a great support to me over the years. I consider myself even luckier for having met a few of them in real life too.
So Happy Writing to me and to any other NaBloPoMo writers who drop by here!
