Another “Post A Day” challenge that I have been involved in off and on is called FMS Photo A Day, which I discovered via Australian twitter friends. I was seeing great photos in my twitter stream tagged with #FMSphotoaday so I decided to investigate further. I found out that this was a daily photo posting challenge created by Chantelle from New South Wales in Australia. She posted a list of daily prompts but emphasises there are no strict rules: any type of camera; literal, figurative or creative interpretation of the prompt; post anywhere – mostly on Instagram or Twitter, or in the Facebook group.
As you will be able to tell, I do love taking pictures, and with the handy dandy phone camera, I snap a lot of photos! And I’m not alone. According to a statistic I saw earlier this year, 1.8 billion photos are uploaded a day and I wouldn’t be surprised if that is closer to 2 billion by now. It is wonderful to see photos from around the world and to think that all the FMS’ers around the world are looking at world with the day’s prompt in mind, in their own corner of the world. Even if there are times if I can’t find an image that fits the prompt for me that I want to post, I am thankful for whatever moments I have spent seeing the world with a more artistic eye, and appreciate it even more.
So perhaps during NaBloPoMo, I will post my FMS Photo A Day pictures alongside my writing, or instead of on the days I struggle for words.
Do you participate in any other daily challenges?
